BE YOU, DO YOU, CELEBRATE YOU

Love comes in the most unexpected and uninvited way.

On a day in the first week of June while watching a movie called “we are who we are”, I realised how many people across the globe are still not able to present their identity to the world. Though it’s already been a year since the verdict came, it is still taboo in some parts.

Can you love with boundaries? Can you always justify your identity? The answer is NO for anyone and everyone. Equality and Humanity stand on the top, nothing else does. Team Game Guru celebrating the month of Love with you all PRIDE MONTH 2021.

LGBTQ (Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender and Queer) pride month is being celebrated every year in the month of June since 1969 to honour the Stonewall riots. Back then, LGBTQ was shown to be connected with mental illness. Today, we stand here celebrating the month of dignity, self-love, self-affirmation, and seeing it as an equal community in society. The rainbow flag was created by Gilbert Baker from the USA and each colour has its own specifications (hot pink for sex, red for life, orange for healing, yellow for sunlight, green for nature, turquoise for art, indigo for harmony, and violet for spirit)

MAKEUP INDUSTRY HONOURING THE PRIDE:

In India, the make-up industry is taking up the charge to honour the pride of everyone in the most relatable way. Makeup is the definition to represent yourself to the world. The make-up artists calling out a campaign on social media, using all the eight colours of the pride flag to present a new makeup look. From rainbow nail arts to rainbow eyes and rainbow faces, there’s a lot of beauty inspiration on Instagram. Everyone has their own perspective with these colours and define them themselves.

BRANDS COMING UP FOR PRIDE MONTH

2021:

Brands have changed their logos to rainbow hues, carrying out campaigns on social media and posts to honour the people. Brands such as Bath and Bodyworks initiated their “love always wins” pride collection. In the run, Levi’s launched its new pride collection. In a social media post, Levi’s denim jacket read the pronouns “ALL PRONOUNS, ALL LOVE”. Various airlines also honoured, Air Asia India, Spice jet and Vistara followed with wishing a happy pride month. IndiGo airlines posted a title, “Tags are for Bags.
